Let Hope Rise

You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our heart is restless until it finds rest in you.
Augustine

I’ve been blogging the past 8 years because writing is how I process life and how I learn – and sharing these lessons is an experiment in community with other women. I think we girls feel pressure sometimes to “put on a brave face” and hide our struggles. But I believe that God works in vulnerability and confession. So I write because I want to be truthful about my struggles to encourage other women who may relate.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  – Hebrews 11:1

I named my blog “Let Hope Rise” because I am a dreamer of dreams. I spend much of my time envisioning and asking the Lord for things in the future – not that I am dissatisfied with the present. In fact, I love my life and love the husband and children the Lord has blessed me with. It is just that I feel a calling towards more. I want to be a part of big things. God things. So I live in hope for the day when my big dreams will come true.

Everyday I try to choose to let the hope that is in me rise to the surface, above all of the doubts and fears that vie for my attention.

So I wait for Him and while I wait, I let hope rise.
